Maytag Front Loading Washer Door Locked

The lid lock is a default feature of your maytag front loading and top loading washer to prevent opening the appliance while the cleaning cycle is in progress.

The door should unlock after this is complete. Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled. Now you can reach down to the bottom of the door latch where there is a 1 round plastic tab. If not then your main control board will need to be replaced.
If not call for service. During this period you will be able to hear the pump running. The door may immediately unlock. The door lock led light will blink.
If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive. Plug the washer back in and hopefully the board reset. Reconnect power to washer plug in. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power.
