Msd Distributor Cap Problems

Msd distributor cap problems. Have had to replace in mid season before. This sounds much like a the firing order being wrong. To clean it up i used flat head screw driver or sandpaper. This is easily identified by a 2 pin connector with one violet black wire and one orange black wire that connect to the magnetic pickup inside the distributor.
